OOLA PRODUCT FAQS
Recommendations for My Medical Condition(s)?
Current scientific evidence shows that a healthy lifestyle, including sound dietary choices, regular exercise, and nutritional supplementation where appropriate and advisable, plays an important role in reducing the risks associated with the development of certain chronic degenerative diseases.
Oola Life, Inc. does not promote its products for use in diagnosing, treating, curing or mitigating any disease, nor can we answer questions concerning medications or other treatments and a potential for interactions with the OOLA products.
We strongly encourage individuals to seek the guidance of a licensed physician, pharmacist, or other health care professional in making decisions regarding nutritional supplementation. These health care professionals have the training and expertise necessary to help concerned
We further recommend that as a basis for such discussions, individuals provide copies of labels describing the contents of the OOLA products in question. This will better enable health care providers to determine which OOLA products may be appropriate.
Where Do OOLA’s Raw Materials Come From?
Due to company policy, we cannot disclose the names or locations of our raw material suppliers. However, OOLA scientists conduct numerous tests on both raw materials and finished products to ensure purity and safety.
Among other testing, we use HPLC, ICP-MS, FTIR, and GLC for quality control purposes. We perform multiple testing and screening procedures to assure that our raw materials are not only pure, but also that they contain no unintentional compounds (pesticides, heavy metals, organic contaminants, manufacturing contaminants, etc.).
Such testing is important because the raw ingredients that go into OOLA products come from a variety of sources. Some are derived from plants. Our vitamin E, for example, is the natural form derived from soy.
Other ingredients, such as vitamin B12, are produced microbiologically in fermentation, then purified. Still other ingredients, such as chromium picolinate, are produced synthetically.
Chromium is purified from a mined mineral and then chemically reacted to produce the picolinate form. Folic acid in supplements is nearly always synthetic because it is preferentially absorbed and utilized over natural food folates, which must go through several conversion processes to be utilized as folic acid.
But again, regardless of their source, all raw ingredients that go into OOLA products are selected for effectiveness, purity, and safety. We use vitamin and mineral compounds in the chemical forms, whether “natural” or “synthetic,” that are best absorbed and utilized by the body. And we purchase the materials with the highest standards for quality.
Guidelines on taking Oola Mind and Oola Body for shift workers
To accommodate disrupted sleep patterns from a graveyard shift, take the Oola Mind supplement at the beginning of your shift and the Oola Body once the shift concludes in the morning. This aligns with transitioning to sleep during the day rather than at night. The main emphasis or concern should be on the caffeine content in the "Mind" tablet. This caffeine is intended to keep professionals like nurses, doctors, and others alert and awake.
What if I forget to take Oola Mind or Oola body, can I take them when I remember?
Take Oola Mind with your initial meal and avoid consumption after 3pm, as its caffeine content may interfere with your sleep. Take Oola Body with your final meal or before bedtime, as it contains adaptogens that aid in relaxation.
Does Oola Connection help with yeast balance in the gut?
Products on the market often claim to balance intestinal yeast or even prevent it. While there's scientific backing for some of these claims, yeast overgrowth usually isn't a concern for those with a healthy gut. Our focus is on promoting this health. Candida species, typically associated with yeast overgrowth, primarily affects immunocompromised or hospitalized individuals. Hence, for most people, fostering a healthy gut microbiome can naturally keep yeast in check.
I am pregnant or wanting to become pregnant, is it ok for me to take the Oola supplements?
Please consult with your healthcare professional, as we cannot provide medical advice.
How old do you have to be to take Oola supplements?
If you're 16 years or older, you may take Oola supplements. However, please consult your healthcare professional before starting, especially if you have medical concerns or are on medications that may interact with supplements.
What if I am taking medications, are Oola supplements going to interact or interfere?
Please consult your healthcare professional.
Can I take Oola Mind and Oola Body at the same time?
We advise against taking these simultaneously, as Mind is formulated for daytime use with nootropics, while Body is designed for nighttime with adaptogens.
Vitamin B12 and MTHFR Mutation: A Clearer Understanding
Vitamin B12 and folate are crucial for various bodily functions, but their effectiveness can be influenced by genetic factors such as the MTHFR mutation. This summary provides scientific evidence regarding the use of non-methylated forms of these vitamins and addresses common concerns and misconceptions.
MTHFR Mutation and Its Impact
- MTHFR Gene: Each person inherits two MTHFR genes, one from each parent. Having a single mutation is common and usually not problematic since one functioning gene is sufficient. Problems typically arise only if both genes are mutated.
- DNA Testing: To determine if you have the MTHFR mutation, a DNA test is necessary. Elevated homocysteine levels can indicate a need for such testing.
Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid (Folate) Supplementation
- Methylation and Non-Methylated Forms: Non-methylated forms of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) and folic acid are generally safe and effective for most people. Those with an MTHFR mutation affecting homocysteine levels might need methylated forms.
- Scientific Evidence: Decades of research support the use of folic acid for preventing neural tube defects and other health benefits. Claims that folic acid is ineffective, blocks methylation, can't be absorbed, or is unsafe are not supported with sufficient scientific research..
Research and Development
- Current Research: Most supplements claiming to be methylated do not always meet label claims. Our scientists maintain the highest standards of scientific research and efficacy for all supplement ingredients.
- Food vs. Supplements: While leafy greens are a good source of folate, their bioavailability is lower compared to supplements. Therefore, folic acid supplements are often recommended to meet daily needs.
Conclusion
Non-methylated forms of vitamin B12 and folic acid remain safe and effective for most individuals, including those with a single MTHFR gene mutation. Until research provides conclusive evidence supporting the superiority of methylated forms, the current forms supported by extensive research will continue to be used. Those with consistently high homocysteine levels should consider genetic testing and consult healthcare professionals for personalized advice.
This summary incorporates scientific evidence to clarify the safety and effectiveness of non-methylated forms of vitamin B12 and folic acid, particularly in the context of the MTHFR
Why We Use Cyanocobalamin in Our Supplements
Stability and Quality
Cyanocobalamin is the most stable form of vitamin B12, recognized globally and included in the USA Pharmacopeia, unlike methylated forms which are not. Methylcobalamin is unstable and photosensitive, losing up to 30% of its potency within a week. Our cyanocobalamin is sourced from Switzerland, known for the highest quality B12 available, and is vegan, synthesized using the bacteria Pseudomonas denitrificans through fermentation. This form of B12 converts to cobalamin in the body, which is essential for optimal health.

Why Melatonin in Rest Gummies?
Melatonin supplements in low doses can support the body's natural sleep cycle, helping with occasional sleeplessness, jet lag, or adjusting to changing schedules. It works with your body's internal clock to promote a sense of relaxation at bedtime. Additionally, melatonin has antioxidant properties that help combat free radicals, supporting overall wellness and cellular health.
Melatonin is just a small part of how we formulated our Rest Gummies, as they also include well-researched GABA, L Tryptophan, Ashwagandha, and L Theanine... just to name a few. It is also at the lowest dose of 2.5mg per gummy. All of these ingredients, together, help with the much needed deep, restorative sleep.
Please note that melatonin supplements are not sleeping pills. Oral melatonin supplements support the human body’s natural circadian rhythms and promote healthy sleep. When taken an hour before bedtime, melatonin supports the natural rise in melatonin that typically occurs before sleep. Taking a low dose of melatonin does NOT stop your own melatonin production.

Adaptogens are a special class of natural, plant-based ingredients that have the ability to support the body and enhance adaptation to physical, mental, and environmental stressors.
